Dino Melaye is a Nigerian politician, businessman and former Senator of The Federal Republic of Nigeria. He represented Kogi West Senatorial District.

Early Life And Education 

Melaye was born in January 1974 in Kano State, Nigeria to parents of Kogi descent.

He had his primary education at the Gandun Nassarawa Primary School, Kano.

He attended command and Air-force Secondary School, Kaduna for his secondary school education. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied geography in 2000. 

He led the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and later became the Secretary General of African Youth Council and then that of the Commonwealth Youth Council. 

Political Career 

His Nigerian political sojourn began with an appointment by President Olusegun Obasanjo to chair the Presidential Advisory Council on Youths. 

He later served as a member of the House of Representatives representing Kabba/Ijumu federal constituency. In the 2015 Senatorial election he was elected a member of the Senate of Nigeria from the Kogi-West under the platform of. He was re-elected on 19 February 2019 to return as senator representing kogi-West senatorial district. He, however, lost his seat to Smart Adeyemi in a rerun election in November, 2019.

Dino Melaye is currently unmarried but was earlier married to Tokunbo Melaye for 10 years and blessed with three children.
