Ewuare II was crowned the Oba of Benin on 20 October 2016. He is the 40th Oba, a title created for the Head of State of the Benin Empire at some time between 1180 and 1300.

The ancient Benin kingdom is ruled by the present 40th Oba of Benin, Eware II Eheneden Erediauwa. He was born in 1953. He became ruler and was ultimately crowned on 20 October 2016 as the Oba of Benin.
Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, is a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdoms of Sweden, Norway and Denmark; the Republics of Finland and Angola. He also served in Rome, Italy and Albania.
His Royal Highness, Eheneden Erediauwa, ascends the revered throne to become the Oba of Benin, succeeding his late father, Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolopkolo, Oba Erediauwa.
He was educated in the United Kingdom and the United States. His net worth is estimated to be $60million.
