Oluwtobi Wander Ojosipe popularly known as Wande Coal, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and Vocalist. He was born on 18th October 1985.



Wande Coal was born in Lagos Island, Lagos Nigeria, to his father Chief Ibukun Olufunto, and his mother Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe. He was the first of two children, Wande Coal did his primary school education at the Staff Nursery and Ijaniki Primary School, and his secondary education in Federal Government College in Lagos State, and furthered his  University education at (Unilag), Lagos State, Nigeria where he studied Curriculum Studies.

Wande Coal started his singing career in the teenage choir at his church. He broke into the  Nigerian entertainment industry as a dancer and got signed to Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits Records in 2006. He featured on D’banj’s Rundown/Funk you up album on singles such as “Loke”, “Tonosibe” and “why me”. Being signed to Mo’ Hits records he is also a member of Mo’ Hits Allstars and played a major role in the released CV (Curriculum Vitae) album. His first single of the CV album was “Ololufe”, it has been described as one of the greatest love songs ever written by a Nigerian artist. Wande Coal later released his debut album Mushin To Mo’Hits which was widely embraced across Nigeria, UK, and the USA.

Wande Coal has also worked on songs with other Nigerian artists including Ikechukwu, Naeto C, Dr. SID, D’Prince, Wizkid,and various artists in the industry. In 2012 following a feud between record label Executives Don Jazzy and D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr. SID, and D’Prince signed on to Don Jazzy’s new Record Label Mavin Records with the inclusion of Tiwa Savage from her former 323 entertainment which made her the first lady of mavin records. Wande Coal left Mavin Records in October 2013, and he released a single called “Baby Face” which Don jazzy claimed it was his music.

After a long break Wande Coal dropped his sophomore album “Wanted”, most reviews of the album placed him on a slightly above average scale, he later went on to released a new single Turkey Nla in December 2017.

Wande Coal has a young boy whom he had with his baby mother called Temitope Ogunnusi. According to several sources, Temitope was 20 years old when she became pregnant for  Wande coal , she was reported to have hidden her pregnancy from Coal until she gave birth to their son who has a striking resemblance with the singer. Sometime in April 2018, Wande coal’s baby mama laid a complain  that the singer and his family had deny  her access to her son for many years but Wande Coal later released a statement to rubbished the claim, saying that she was the one who abandoned their son after she got married to another man.
