Angry residents in Warri, Delta state filed out this morning and destroyed a POS operator's stand. According to the protesters, POS operators are extorting them due to the scarcity of New Naira notes.
Prior to the scarcity, POS operators charged N100 for every N5000 withdrawn but with the current scarcity of Naira notes, they charge as much as N1500 for every N5000 withdrawn.
Some of the POS operators claim they have to make their money back as they allegedly purchase the Naira notes from some bankers as well as fuel station attendants.
